Versa Care Centre Brantford has been awarded the Revera LTC/3M Skin and Wound Care Clinical Excellence Award for their continued dedication to the implementation of our Revera LTC Skin and Wound Care Program. Based on their monthly indicators, they had no internally acquired wounds for a period of three months. Versa Care Centre Brantford was also a contributor in the development of the Brant County Wound Care Protocols. These protocols are similar to the current Revera LTC/3M program but apply to all levels of care (community, acute care, etc.). They also promote a continuum of care and management of skin and wound care across all sectors.
Forest Heights has been awarded the Revera LTC/3M Skin and Wound Care Clinical Excellence Award for their commitment to the enhancement of care practices by supporting research opportunities and ongoing learning. Forest Heights embarked on a clinical trial using Pulse Electromagnetic Field therapy (PEMF) to treat chronic pressure wounds. The support of the management group and ongoing teamwork made this a successful experience. The data collected showed that the utilization of a new technology in skin and wound care management benefitted the Residents of Forest Heights.
